Subtle warming each day this week

Northern California looks to have a rainy Valentine’s Day as a low-pressure system nears the West Coast on Wednesday. It’s a very different picture for Southern California, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the low 70s for V-Day.

The next opportunity for rain in the desert arrives early next week, with Monday currently being favored. Rainfall amounts for the Coachella Valley are not impressive this far out, but it’s a different outlook for coastal communities in Los Angeles County and north. This is an evolving forecast to keep an eye on.

Temperatures will slowly warm into the mid-70s by the close of the week before a low-pressure system feeds moisture into Southern California. The first change will be an increase in cloud cover, followed by the chance for rain early next week.
