Preparations for Valentine’s Day underway across the valley

Local businesses are preparing for big Valentine’s Day crowds.

The general manager of Copley’s on Palm Canyon, Shannon Mesey, says that they’re already prepping their Valentine’s Day special for over 300 diners.

Mesey says supporting small businesses is a great way to make your loved ones feel special.

“I do feel like in Palm Springs, people come here not for chain restaurants, not for that. They want a personal feel and the best way to do that as a small business, a family owned company such as ours,” says Mesey.

Lufta Mobarak, the owner of Palm Springs Fudge and Chocolates, has spent the past several days preparing her top sellers of the season, chocolate covered strawberries and caramel apples.

“I’m trying to make 50 of them. I mean, apple strawberries and let’s see how much of it goes today,” says Mobarak.
