Large plume of smoke spotted in the East Valley

News Channel 3 is working to identify what looks like a large plume of smoke in the East Valley.

The Bureau of Land Management and fire crews from the California Desert Interagency Fire Program say that they are working on a prescribed fire in the Dos Palmas Preserve in central Riverside County.

Officials with BLM have confirmed that the smoke is from that fire.

It was first spotted around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.
