Four CVHS students to be awarded $20K BNP Paribas Open Scholarships

The Coachella Valley Unified School District announced the recipients of the prestigious BNP Paribas Scholarships.

Four Coachella Valley High School students will each be awarded $20,000 scholarships from BNP Paribas to support their future endeavors.

The students are Nevaeh Robles, Kamila Cortes Ramirez, Jose Arreola, and Miguel Gonzalez. 

CVUSD said the recipients were chosen based on their outstanding scholarship portfolios and successful completion of the interview process, showcasing not only academic excellence but also exemplary leadership and community involvement.

“These students have demonstrated remarkable dedication on and off the tennis court, embodying the values of perseverance, determination, and service,” reads CVUSD’s announcement.

Nevaeh’s leadership on the tennis team and his aspirations to pursue a career in pediatric surgery reflect his commitment to excellence and service.

The students will be celebrated by representatives from BNP Paribas at an awards ceremony on March 14, 2024, in the CVHS auditorium.

Additionally, they will be treated to a special presentation on Stadium Court during the final week of the BNP Paribas Open on Saturday, March 16, where they will have the opportunity to watch the Semi-Finals in a suite, courtesy of BNP Paribas.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to BNP Paribas for their generous support and investment in the future of our students. These scholarships will empower Nevaeh, Kamila, Jose, and Miguel to pursue their passions and positively impact their communities and beyond,” said Socorro Sanchez, Principal at Coachella Valley High School.
