We’re hearing from local Democratic Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz about his office’s efforts to help Americans in Israel and Gaza.
“My office is there to help anybody whether you’re Jewish, Israeli, or you’re Palestinian in Gaza, if you have family, and if you they’re a United States citizen, please contact our office.”
Ruiz continued, “Today, I sent a letter to the ambassador of Egypt, really urging them to open the Rafah corridor so that foreign nationals can leave Gaza as soon as possible.”
For constituents who need assistance, you can call Ruiz’s office at (760) 424-8888.
U.S. citizens seeking to be in touch with the U.S. Embassy in Israel can fill out this form or call 1-833-890-9595 or 1-606-641-0131.
News Channel 3 also reached out to local Republican Congressman Ken Calvert.
Calvert’s office sent us a statement:
“I’m happy to see President Biden is traveling to Israel and sending a clear message that the United States stands with Israel. We need to ensure Israel has the resources it needs to defend itself and eliminate Hamas. I have been to the White House and in communication with Biden administration officials since the October 7th attack. Through our military presence in the region and our words, we must make it crystal clear to Iran and others that any new attacks on Israel across the Lebanese or Syrian borders will be met with swift and severe consequences.”
